HARMONY

In Mysterium Cosmographicum, Johannes Kepler proposed that the relationship between the distances of the six planets known in the 16th century could be understood through the five Platonic solids, enclosed within a sphere that represented the Saturnian orbit.
This machine repeats a ritual centered around a dodecahedron—a fundamental piece of sacred geometry—which rotates to project an incidental geometry of light and shadow into the exhibition space. In doing so, it proposes an understanding of our environment as a variable, impermanent geometry.
